X Series Cylinders: Modular, High‑Performance Lighting Solutions

 

As part of DMF Lighting’s broader X Series lighting collection, the 3‑inch modular cylinder system is designed to meet the evolving needs of modern commercial interiors.

 

The X Series Cylinders are available in pendant, surface‑mount and ADA‑compliant wall‑mount configurations, offering unmatched flexibility across a wide range of applications including hospitality, workplace, education and retail environments.

Key features include:

  • Field‑changeable optics, trims, and light engine modules
  • Over one million configuration possibilities
  • Onsite adjustability for late‑stage design changes or future reconfiguration

This modular approach allows lighting designers and specifiers to maintain consistency across an entire project while adapting to unique architectural conditions.

 

Precision Performance Meets Design Flexibility

Offered in 6‑1/2‑inch and 9‑inch lengths, X Series Cylinders deliver lumen outputs ranging from 750 to 1500 lumens, with downlight and fully adjustable LED light engine module options.  Adjustable models offer 360‑degree rotation and 45‑degree tilt, enabling precise aiming. An uplight option enables both direct and indirect illumination for enhanced visual impact.

 

High‑performance Cross Beam Total Internal Reflection (TIR) optics maximize light output while minimizing glare. Available beam distributions include:

  • 25° Spot
  • 40° Flood
  • 60° Wide Flood
  • Linear

All optics are field‑changeable, allowing specifiers to fine-tune during installation or late-stage design changes.

 

Advanced Lighting Controls and Integrated Technology

X Series Cylinders are offered in seven color temperatures, which includes Warm Dim and Tunable White. The cylinders also are available with a Turtle-Friendly option, supporting environmentally responsible design.

  • Warm Dim: Smooth dimming from 3000K to 1800K
  • Tunable White (DALI‑2): Adjustable ranges of 1800K–4000K or 2700K–6500K to support wellness, productivity, and circadian lighting strategies

Unlike traditional cylinder systems, the driver is integrated directly into the light engine module, enabling .1% dimming across static white, Warm Dim, and Tunable White configurations. This innovation simplifies installation and enhances serviceability.

 

Custom Finishes and Decorative Trims

Design flexibility extends to a wide range of interchangeable trims, including Snoot, Wall Wash, Standard, and decorative styles such as Floating, Hyperbolic, and Open. Decorative trims feature finely crafted acrylic with transparent and frosted visual elements.

Finish choices include White, Black, Brushed Aluminum, Bronze, and Custom RAL colors, allowing seamless integration into any interior design scheme.

Additional features include field‑cuttable pendant cord and stem lengths.
