LightPitch at LEDucation – True 1

Discover DMF Lighting’s True 1 in a LightPitch interview from LEDucation

DMF unveils True 1 at LEDucation 2026

True 1 Takes the Spotlight on LightPitch™

At LEDucation 2026, innovation in architectural lighting was on full display and few products captured attention quite like DMF Lighting’s True 1. In a recent LightPitch™ interview, Samantha Orzel, senior director of commercial growth at DMF Lighting, spoke with Randy Reid, editor of the EdisonReport, to discuss the thinking behind this remarkably compact yet powerful modular downlighting system.

True 1 represents a meaningful evolution in 1-inch aperture lighting. Delivering more than 1000 lumens, it challenges long-standing assumptions about what such a small form factor can achieve. Historically, fixtures of this size have required the compromise of either sacrificing light output or introducing uncomfortable glare. True 1 resolves this tension through a sophisticated three-stage optical stack system that balances performance with visual comfort, resulting in a refined and highly controlled lighting experience.

Editor’s Note (July 2026): At the time of LEDucation 2026, True 1 was referenced as delivering more than 1,000 lumens. Prior to shipment, DMF completed a lens refinement to improve color consistency across viewing angles, a deliberate design decision that resulted in updated output figures. Current production models deliver up to 849 lumens depending on optic configuration. Please refer to the current product page and specification sheet for the latest performance data.

Versatility is equally central to its design. Offered in both fixed and adjustable (360-degree rotation and 35-degree tilt) configurations, the system adapts seamlessly to a wide range of architectural applications. A selection of beam spreads (30-, 40-, and 50-degrees) and color temperatures ranging from 2400K to 4000K, including Warm Dim, allows designers to tailor the lighting environment for specific applications. A high 93 CRI ensures rich and accurate color rendering.

Beyond performance, True 1 reflects DMF Lighting’s commitment to modular engineering. Its cartridge-based design enables field-interchangeable optics and correlated color temperature (CCT), giving specifiers and installers greater flexibility both during installation and over the life of the project. Maintenance is equally considered, with a serviceable DC-to-DC driver accessible from below the ceiling, streamlining upkeep without disruption.

The industry has taken note. True 1 was recognized among the Top 10 MUST SEE Products by EdisonReport at LEDucation, further underscoring its impact and relevance.
