No Price Increase Due to Tariffs -- DMF Lighting Stands Firm, Will Not Raise Customer Pricing Despite Mounting Tariff Pressure
November 1, 2018

LOS ANGELES, CA – DMF Lighting¼ (DMF), a leader in LED downlighting innovation, announced today that it would not increase pricing due to tariffs.

As has been widely reported, the Office of the United States Trade Representative continues to increase the Section 301 tariff on goods coming into the U.S. from China. This includes many lighting components and finished products. While numerous lighting companies have used these tariffs as a justification to raise prices not just once but twice, DMF remains committed to delivering the same excellent products and excellent value that customers have come to expect.

“Our intention is to keep our prices at the same levels despite the Section 301 tariffs”, said DMF COO Ian Ibbitson. “We understand how important it is for our customers to move forward without interrupting ongoing projects or disrupting future plans.”

DMF Lighting manufactures the majority of its products outside of China. Its products will be largely unaffected by the tariffs, and the supply chain will remain uninterrupted. By making this promise of holding prices steady, DMF gives customers the confidence to continue working with the company today and into the future.

Michael Danesh, DMF’s Director of Business Development, believes “One of our greatest assets is the trust our customers place in us. By holding prices steady, our successful partnerships will continue for years to come. This is far more important than a few added dollars to the bottom line today.”

We’re proud of our award winning products. But those awards don’t mean much if our customers can’t get their DMF Lighting products when they need them. Distributors and specifiers depend on the availability, speed and delivery accuracy of our products. That’s why we maintain a strategically positioned Southern California warehouse that operates quickly and efficiently. If we receive your order before noon, it goes out that day.

Warehouse efficiency & inventory optimization

Our warehouse receives and ships thousands of products everyday. In order to handle this, we consider every operational aspect to ensure shipments go out quickly and accurately. We’ve analyzed the entire order fulfillment process to ensure optimum warehouse efficiency. Our warehouse managers track the movement of goods to appropriately control inventory flow. DMF products are stocked locally and ready to ship.

In addition, our warehouse staff is trained to understand the products. Instead of simply scanning an item out, our employees check the item part code and double check the specs. Understanding the products adds a human element and another layer of verification.

IES recognizes DMF Lighting for third consecutive year in 2018 Progress Report

For the third year in a row, the Illuminated Engineering Society (IES) names a DMF Lighting product to the annual Progress Report. And to make this year even more exciting, DMF has two products listed! It’s officially award season and DMF is racking up the accolades! Architectural SSL magazine has named both the OneFrameÂź System and DRD5S winners of 2018 Product Innovation Awards (PIA) in the downlights category. Honoring the most advanced LED fixtures, the OneFrame System was recognized for its innovate modularity and host of options. As for DRD5S, the publication was impressed by its attractive design and beautiful light quality.

Open to manufacturers of solid-state fixtures and components worldwide, the PIA awards recognize the most innovative LED and solid-state luminaires and fixtures on the market.

DMF Lighting Files Patent Infringement and Unfair Competition Lawsuit Against ELCO Lighting
August 16, 2018

LOS ANGELES, CA – August 16, 2018 – DMF Lighting¼ (DMF), a leader in LED downlighting innovation, announced today that it has filed a lawsuit against ELCO Lighting, Inc. (ELCO), in the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Case No. 2:18-cv-07090.

The lawsuit alleges that ELCO is willfully infringing DMF’s U.S. Patent No. 9,964,266 by selling an imitation of DMF’s award-winning DRD2 LED Module. The DRD2 Module is a compact LED light engine that creates downlighting systems that are simple to specify, install, and maintain, and that can be used across many different lighting environments. Offered under DMF’s OneFrame System and OneLED brands, the DRD2 Module has revolutionized recessed lighting technology since its introduction in 2014. The DRD2 Module facilitates a flexible, modular approach that combines versatile light module and trim options for both compact junction box and architectural recessed fixture applications.

The lawsuit alleges that ELCO has tried to cause confusion in the marketplace regarding the origin of DMF’s products sold under the OneFrame and OneLED marks (the “One Marks”) and ELCO’S copycat products, including by promoting the infringing products under the trademark “UNO,” meaning “ONE.”

Michael Danesh, inventor of the DRD2 Module, stated: “At DMF, we believe in creating quality products by consistently investing in our innovation. We are committed to protecting our investments in research and development so that we can continue to create award-winning products and deliver exceptional value to our customers.”

On June 28, IES San Francisco returns to the beautiful Pier 27 event space for the 2018 Light! Design Expo. The Expo offers product showcases and classes specifically geared toward the architecture and design community. DMF will be on hand to showcase our newest downlights, including the S Series Surface Mount LED and expanded OneFrame System.

LIGHTFAIR International 2018 is officially in the books and what a show it was. We had a great exhibit, showcasing our newest products in our biggest booth ever. The flexibility of the M Series Housing in particular was a big hit with visitors. Guests also raved about the design of our DRD5S, commenting on how much it looks like a recessed downlight.

The DMF Team enjoyed the opportunity to truly engage with our channel partners and customers face-to-face. The positive response was overwhelming and we’re already gearing up for next year in Philadelphia!

Illuminating the Future

DMF Lighting embarks upon the Windy City for LIGHTFAIR International 2018

April 6, 2018

lightDMF Lighting is excited to be exhibiting at LIGHTFAIR International (LFI), the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference. LFI 2018 will feature six products showcasing pavilions featuring everything from ballasts to smart lighting as well as approximately 200 hours of world-class accredited education.

Established in 1989, the 29th edition takes place at McCormick Place in Chicago from May 6 – 10, 2018. It will attract over 550 exhibitors and more than 25,000 attendees. DMF is showcasing our latest innovations, including new LED modules as well as previewing unreleased products.
